I have stood up to Doug Ford and the Conservatives before, and I am ready to do it again. As Leader of the Ontario Liberal Party, I will listen, learn and build back trust by focusing on what matters to real families.

Meet Bonnie

I was not born into a political dynasty. I didn’t inherit a trust fund or a multi-million dollar business.

I grew up in my grandparents’ rooming house. And I remember when the key to success in Ontario was hard work. Get your education, work hard and you will get ahead.

That was the promise of Ontario for my immigrant parents and for me.

I want to bring that back.

I have devoted my life to family, public service, and to solving the real issues Ontario families face. I’ve demonstrated a continued commitment to my home community as a Liberal MP, City Councillor, and three-term Mayor of Mississauga.

As Mayor, I presided over the City’s $4 billion budget. I guided Mississauga through economic development and growth, with a balanced budget, improved service delivery and getting the basics right. I did it by focusing on the priorities of real families in my community.

I have a business background with experience working for Disney, McDonald’s, Insurance Bureau of Canada, and an MBA from the Schulich School of Business. But some of the most important life skills I learned while working retail at Woolworths for my high school job. It taught me how to build connections with people. And it taught me the most important lesson about what we SHOULD be doing as politicians and leaders. Acting in service of real people.
